This time of year, there are several great places in the blogosphere to read about the Best in Music 2011.
Below are some of my favorites.
- Surfing on Steam | One of the blogs and twitter feeds I read the most. The LA-based blog features the Top 25 Albums of 2011, and the Top 10 Videos of 2011.
- Aquarium Drunkard | To me, this is the best written music blog on the net. Tons of quality contributors, and a mix of old and new music genres. The blog recently posted a very quality 2011 Year in Review.
- Gorilla vs. Bear | The blog posted their favorites – full-lengths, mixtapes, EPs, and one cassette – and asked artists for personal favs as well.
- Believe in Sound | The Irish-based music blog provides albums, EPs, songs, and breakthrough artists of the year.
- Rolling Stone, Rob Sheffield | Author and contributor Rob Sheffield’s list really is not up my alley (ok, it’s not a blog either), but his review of his #5 song, Bon Iver’s “Beth/Rest”, is worth the read. One of the strangest and best songs of 2011.
