2012 brings us the Stone Roses, in reunited form.
The Stone Roses formed in 1983. In 1989, they released their first full length self-titled ep, which is widely regarded as one of the best British albums of all time. This album is often credited as the birth of the Britpop genre. After releasing Second Coming in 1994, a lackluster effort when compared to their first, the bandmates eventually dissolved the band in 1996.
Can Manchester, U.K.’s legendary band recapture the past in both live and recorded form? I personally find it hard to believe, but I’ll be rooting for them. Let’s hope they line up some shows state-side (perhaps some festivals if not a full tour) so we can see if the seminal band can live up to their epic legacy.
